Creativity In Saskatchewan - A Short Film
While completing my last semester at the University of Regina, I shot and edited a short film that features many different artists who live in Saskatchewan. Below you can find some of my behind the scenes images, along with a few working screenshots.
Colouring in Davinci Resolve
Colour grading is a huge part of video production, and over the last year I have been learning new techniques to colour grade more effectively to give my footage certain looks. Here is one screen grab from the before and after in my short film.
Gear Used
This entire project was shot using my Sony FX3, along with various other pieces of equipment such as lavaliere & boom microphones, external camera monitors, and a variety of lenses and lens filters.
Mobile "behind the scenes" photographs
Over the many years that I have been shooting, I have noticed how important behind the scenes content is. People love to share these types of photos to social media, so I've started to take "BTS" photos at every shoot to maximize my reach on social media.
Working Timelines
Although this was my first time shooting a short film, I learned many things along the way. One of them being the importance of having a clean editing timeline. To ensure that my main project timeline was as clean as possible, I created a separate timeline to edit the interview footage in. Once the interviews were edited to my liking, I then copy the interviews and paste them into the full project timeline. This acts as the base footage. After this I would go into the timeline and lay over the corresponding B-roll footage.
